I hate to say this but when I tried Hulu it had a lot of problems and not just on the Fire Stick. So much of the time the only way to fix the issue was for them to reboot my account on their end. I had so many issues with Hulu I finally gave up on it.

Also having problems with Hulu error 97. Other problems are the following:
Alexa takes 30 to 40 seconds t respond.
Only streaming app that loads quickly is Netflix.
Amazon Prime, Sling, All CBS, are all slow to load - about 45-60 seconds.
Everything works on Smart TV, iPad, Phone, Desktop.
Contacted Amazon and they sent me a refurbished unit (Gen 2). Same problems. Called Amazon again and did a factory reboot on the unit. No luck. After dealing with the tech for about 90 minutes, she determined the problem was not the unit but my cable. After I explained that all my other devices were working, including my Roku, she insisted I call cable. Cable company laughed and said the problem is with Amazon.

I spent two hours last night with this same issue for my 84 year old mother's firestick. She had been using the same firestick with a hotspot to watch Hulu, Netflix, etc. We got her Spectrum internet and Hulu will not load. Throws an error 93 or 94 code. Was on the phone 30 minutes with internet company. We rebooted modem, router, uninstalled app, reinstalled app, clean the cashe and factory reset it. Nothing has worked and no she is very upset because Hulu was her favorite. She can access them on her phone, tablet and laptop, but would rather watch on the tv. She does have an older version stick, unsure at moment if it is a 1st generation or a basic, but would have thought that when it was factory reset, it would have updated....at a loss as to what to do...and also having the same problem as Bismark above me, everything loads very slowly, very slow response time.
Your interface on a Gen 1 FireTV Stick is going to be painfully slow compared to the new ones, due to the physical hardware differences.
So it appears that changing the way you receive internet is what caused the issue.
You have done a Reset to Factory Defaults, so there is no way of going back and resolving what you had, as you wiped everything clean.
After doing a little research, it appears people running Spectrum are experiencing issues with the HULU App on FireTV Devices. Why is still up in the air, but I have seen many people complain in the past about the Hulu App.
I found a solution that works for me. All you have to do is hold down the select and play/pause button on your remote control for about 5-10 seconds. This will reset your firestick. Then you can start Hulu again without any problems. Oddly enough, turning the firestick on and off does NOT work, but resetting it does.
Can anyone confirm if this method works for them too? Works every time for me.
While loading hulu from firestick 4k screen would just go blank. Did the reset as posted by a previous post to just hold the select and play button for 10 sec. Resets the firestick 4k. Powers back up and hulu restarts as usual. Works perfectly.
Sorry to say it didn't work for me though I was hopeful. I have a Amazon Fire Stick with Alexa and I get an error 94. I have been in contract with Amazon and they told me it was an issue with hulu. I contacted hulu and tried everything possible to get it up and running and nothing. They told me that it is a known issue and they are working it but its been over 3 weeks now.
For me the Hulu application is so far my worst performing application. I am using Verizon FIOS and 3 different types of Firesticks. I just utilize Hulu for March madness, bowl games, and Tour de France and my Hulu account is suspended for the rest of the year. For me it takes more than a minute to load and buffers or hangs far too frequently.
