I'm having a similar issue as the guy above, I am able to mirror to my 2nd Gen firestick with my Samsung phone but I can't mirror with my laptop running windows 10, it finds my firestick when when I click to connect it gives me that couldn't mirror error, but I can mirror to my smart tv with my laptop just fine. Does anybody have a quick work around? I'm thinking of trying that allcast app or local cast app or even uPnP app, but I think that's just for android to android devices right?
Have you looked at the link in Ohio's first repky, above:
You can mirror your display on most phones or tablets that support Miracast. Some of these devices include:
Android devices running Android OS 4.2 (Jelly Bean) or higher (performance may vary).
Kindle Fire HDX 7" (3rd Generation) and Kindle Fire HDX 8.9" (3rd Generation), Fire HDX 8.9 (4th Generation), Fire HD 8 (5th Generation), and Fire HD 10 (5th Generation)
It doesn't appear to be compatible with Windows.
