Wondering if I can (and if so.... how) use my AmazonFireTV unit when I go on vacation? Have residence several states away that I stay in for a month or two and wondering if I can take my unit with me to use.
Yes you can. You just need to change the Wi-Fi network on the device to connect to the one in your vacation home. Things only get complicated when you travel to different countries, because you can browse stuff while connected but often times videos are restricted when they detect that you're connecting from a non-US (or non-supported, more generally) territory.
If you think it's worth the $39.99 price tag, it might just be simpler to buy a Fire TV stick to just put in the vacation home. That way you don't have to unplug and setup each time you do this, and misplace remote controls while traveling (as I have done on a few occasions!).
Sure! Just disconnect the Fire box and power cable from your current TV and take that and the remote with you to the new location. At your new place, reconnect to a TV that has an HDMI port. Then, set up your new WiFi connection. Here’s a refresher: Set Up Your Network Connection
Your Fire box retains your registration settings and anything you downloaded to it, so you don’t have to re-register. Once you’re on WiFi, it’ll connect to your Amazon account.
