I have an Amazon Music subscription and have set a playlist for offline use. All music is downloaded.
When starting the playlist, playback seems to stop at random times. Could be 30min in or 10min into playback. All I know is that playback is stopping without my intervention. I basically start the playback and let it run - unattended.
I've tried to mitigate any battery/power/sleep options.
This happens with me too, Fire 8 HD, 6th Gen. It happens with offline music that I have stored on the internal drive of the tablet. It seems completely random, but very annoying when it does stop for no apparent reason. It'll happen with wi-fi turned off and the tablet sitting still. Searching this forum, a handful of other people have reported the same or similar problem and I have not seen any definitive answer. It happens with the built-in music playing app, and I also tried it with two other android apps on the Fire and it happens with any and all of them. I've used a lot of android devices over the years and never had this problem before.
My HD8 tablet stops playing songs after about 10 minutes. It doesn't matter if it's online or offline. It freezes and won't even allow me to do anything but turn it off and back on. Then it plays again, but freezes again. I thought it might be optimizing, but it doesn't say that on the screen like my fire 7 does. When it works it's great. It doesn't have any problems with playing videos or going online. The main reason I bought it was to listen to music. Very disappointing.
I'm having the same issue. It's been ongoing since i started putting my own music and storing it on my tablet, so for the past 6 months. I've learned to ignore it and just open my tablet and restart my shuffle every single time it happens but it's annoying, right? Who wants to deal with that time after time every day. When you have a product that you paid all this money for and it's not working properly you want answers and you would like it to be addressed. By the way this is just one problem on top of many when it comes to the Fire HD. I'm very dissatisfied with this product and I do not recommend it to people looking to buy a tablet. I tell them to go with something else. Sorry Amazon but your other services are better, but this *****.
Having the same issue with Kindle Fire HDX (3rd Gen). Music stops & plays randomly while listening to Pandora. Was fine but now I can close and re-open and it will play only for a few minutes or sometimes not at all. Was considering buying the HD8 but from comments above that is not the solution. Is this a speaker issue?
It's been happening to mine too. I'm streaming all the songs, nothing downloaded on my HDD. I've tried rebooting. I've tried force stopping/clearing the cache. It has to be at least 6 or 7 times just today.
Kindle Fire HD 8 - for the past month or so any kind of playback on the tablet seems to randomly stop for no apparent reason. Pandora, Netflix, xFinity stream, YouTube, built-in music app and anything that I try to play. I thought it might be the Alexa voice cast feature. I have disabled that on this tablet, my Echo Dot and the two other Fire HD 7 tablets in the house. It does not seem to help at all. Obviously it is not a small inconvenience. I am reluctant to go through the trouble of resetting the device as it is way too time consuming and has not helped fix other issues that I have experienced in the past. I'm wondering if this is an issue that anybody is really looking into? Really? 11 months ago since Amazon staff has posted here?
i know that mine has done this recently, and i figured out that it will stop when a download is finished downloading, unfortunately it doesn't come back on. that might be a possible reason, hope this helps.
I have the same issue. Even if I download the song to the device. I like to take the tablet in the car for the music and toggle off my phone so at first I thought it was because my phone was too slow. However it doesn't matter. Nothing will stop it.
I've been having the same issue. The music is downloaded, wifi and bluetooth are off. I tried the hard restart and installing updates and it's still happening. It's more than just an annoyance for me since I use my tablet for work (teaching cycle classes). It's obnoxious and disruptive to have to keep restarting the music over and over again in class. At this point I'm looking at dumping Amazon Unlimited Music and switching to another platform that is more reliable.
