In reference to post #162- any work around for the Amazon fire stick? My kindle works with the static address but there is no static option on the Amazon fire stick. Thanks
This seems to be limited to the iOS 13 update by Apple. Perhaps Amazon is trying to influence folks switching? Poor sportsmanship if so. It really should not be taking this long to work out if staff were dedicated to doing so. Apple does offer Developer support...
I am having the same issue with connecting kindle fire 7’s through hot spot. Says connecting but then says no internet available. Called Verizon and my iPad will connect but not my kindles for the kids.
Worth repeating again. To connect your Fire kindle tablet (7,8 or whatever) go to post #61 and follow thru on the solution. I applied it a few weeks ago and it is still doing good connecting to my hotspot (IOS13) . Though not so much with my Fire stick as it failed to hold on to the numbers i manually put in.
This is APPLE IOS13 my husbands iPhone X as well as mine stopped working after recent update. I have a toddler that can’t use her kindle in the car. Why am I paying for a hotspot. Apple refuses to take responsibility for anything ever
If this has been reported over a month ago why hasn’t it been fixed? Do we all just need to return the kindles and get iPads for our toddlers? I have a 3 yr old . We were using his connected to our hot spots for travel. We travel frequently and this is well beyond inconvenient
I had the same problem as many after the update on my iPhone 7 Plus. I finally discovered if you go into Control Panel and slide up from the bottom of the screen you will see a wi-fi symbol in the upper left. Click it to turn it back on. Mine symbol became surrounded by a blue circle and all began working with hotspot.
I have the same problem trying to connect to my WiFi Hotspot on my IPhone SE running the latest version of IOS. It use to work before now I get the same message as everyone here. Other devices I have connect to my Hotspot fine. I hope this gets resolved soon.
I’m have a similar problem. When connected to iPhone hotspot, “no internet “ appears when pairing the fire 10. But the phone has internet access. Can someone tell me why or how to fix this problem.
I have reported this to Amazon Customer Service who have advised to do a factory reset to my device. They say this will temporarily solve the issue. I am reluctant to do this as it is only a temporary fix. I’m waiting for a permanent fix to resolve the problem.
I am surprised people are still on this thread after having problems for several weeks. I got the problem today for the first time. Googled the issue and landed on this thread. I set the IP Address manually as highlighted in #162 and it now connects again happily. If people are struggling I suggest they look up the specific instructions for their device and try to fix it, it's not difficult.
Post #162 resolved the issue for me as well. I have a Kindle Fire HD8 (7 Gen) with OS 5.6.4.0 and an iPhone 8 running iOS 13.2.3 from Verizon network. I just wanted to mention if you have the Hotspot connection listed on the Wi-Fi page on the Kindle make sure to click it and select "Forget" first. Scroll down and make sure you don't see it anywhere or click the three dots in upper right hand corner and select "Saved Networks" and make sure the Hotspot isn't listed there as well, if it is click it and select "Forget".
Then in the upper right hand corner click the three dots on the Wi-Fi page and select "Add Network".
For Network Name enter what is shown on the "Personal Hotspot" page if using an iPhone, then set security to WPA/WPA2 PSK, check Advanced Options box.
Leave Proxy as None, in IP Settings select Static, on iPhone enter an IP from 172.20.10.2 - 172.20.10.14, Gateway is 172.20.10.1, Network prefix Length 28.
DNS Servers can leave as default of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Then click Save.
Now try to connect again on Kindle to your Hotspot. If says "Authentication Problems" I would forget the connection and repeat steps above again. Not sure why but after the 2nd or 3rd try it worked and now when I click on the Hostpot connection it works as expected, and when I connect to a regular Wi-fi network (not Hotspot) it works as well. Hope this helps.
I 've just started to have this problem this week - iPhone updated a few weeks ago and the Fire was fine till now it suddenly won't use Hot Spot but uses house WIFI no problems - very annoying. Was going to buy a replacement but not sure I will bother now I can see how many others have same issue -iPhone update has been a pig all round. :(

Nope.
not sure of the logic behind it either. Waste of time.

How much longer until this is fixed??????? My kindle is useless to me at this point. I have no other Wifi connection available.
You have to go ask Apple that.

You can use this workaround in the meantime:
