I was experimenting with the Parental Controls before I was going to give my Fire Tablet 7 to my kid. If I lock everything down, it seems pretty kid proof.
But I'm surprised that parental controls don't seem to prevent anyone from deregistering my account from the tablet? The irony is that I'm scared to hit the deregister button just to find out if it asks for the parental controls password (IMHO it should do this first before even asking to deregister). Does anyone know if it asks for the password AFTER hitting the deregister button... so I don't blow away my settings just to find out?! The odd thing is that the parental password prompt seems to come up right away for every other system setting...
There has to be a way to deregister it without passwords as people forget passwords wholesale or sell/give away devices they left registered with no way to get back to them to find out what the PIN was and so on.
I am of the opinion that if Junior or Juniorette does this (deregister) more than once, it is time to take their toy away until they agree to behave.
