I reset my Kindle Fire 7 as the screen was not responding and taking on a mind of its own. I had tried updating etc., but it made no difference although it was downloading apps ok. The calculator function was all over the place. However, after completing the factory reset the device immediately picked up the wifi connection, but when I tried to enter my password the keyboard was not responding and replacing the characters I typed. Any suggestions please?
Have you tried restarting your Fire device to see if you continue to experience this keyboard issue?
To restart your device, press and hold, or slide and hold, the Power button for a full 40 seconds. Even after the screen goes blank, continue to hold for 40 seconds, then let go. Press or slide the power button to restart if the device does not start up again on its own.
as a factory reset basically accomplishes the same thing as a restart/reboot, a reboot mightor might not do anything help, but if it's acting odd after resetting to factory defaults, it's likely there's something wrong with the device. My suggestion is to talk to Customer Service:
