Greetings, I have a number of kindle fire tablets that we use in school and I notice that nightly these tablets seem to download large amounts of data, almost 500mb, and make hundreds of thousands of https connections to various 54.*.*.* and 52.*.*.* ip addresses. Normally I would assume they are downloading an update or an app is updating however they are all up to date (as of the last major update) and there are no additional apps (bar the default ones) to update. Is anyone able to explain as to why they are downloading such huge amounts of data and why there are so many connections being attempted. it seems those address ranges are tied to amazon.
That's as good a place as any to start, thank you. It was enabled too. The constant connection attempts are to a device metrics part of amazon, I've been lead to believe this is down to information collection related to apps & games so I will disable that and see if both of these make a difference. Thanks for your help!
