Can anyone tell me how to fix the screen orientation on my sons freetime profile. It’s stuck in portrait for the home screen. It will flip to landscape when apps are selected but will only show the home page in portrait. The adult profile works correctly and I don’t see a setting in the kids profile that would prevent screen flip to landscape.
Oh, that's odd. Did you set it up as a child profile, or a teen profile? If it's a child profile, it should be locked in landscape mode. If it's a teen profile, it should switch when the device is rotated.
In either case, rebooting might get it working properly. To do that, make sure the Fire is charged, unplug it, hold the power button in for 40 seconds (ignoring the shut down prompt), release for a moment, then press power once to restart.
If that doesn't help, contact customer support by phone or chat for real-time troubleshooting. From any Amazon page, go to Help > Need more help? > Contact Us.
I'm sorry to report that Ann's comments regarding screen orientation are completely incorrect. My son has been using his Fire 7 in FreeTime for years. The orientation was auto-rotate, even on home screen.
Suddenly this week, it is stuck in portrait. This only affects his profile on his own tablet. His brother's profile works perfectly on the same tablet. Also, all profiles work properly on the brother's tablet.
Resetting doesn't work because this is a Free time glitch.
