I have a kindle HD 8 (5th. Generation). All of a sudden all of my tabs with the exception of the Home are blank! Usually I keep it on the "For You" tab which has my current book at the top of the page and most recent apps on the bottom but now if I go to that tab, all I see is the background photo. The Home tab doesn't show the most recent at the top, just my various apps. All the other tabs (Books, Video, Games, Shop, Apps, Music, Audible & Newsstand) are all blank when I navigate to them. If I click on library, I can access my books or in the video tab, I can click library and then can access the menu which will show my watch list. However, all the initial pages are blank. I have powered down and restarted hoping that would fix it but it still doesn't.
Try a reboot - hold down for about 40 seconds (ignoring any messages).
I had that happen to my Books page a month or so ago. After working with CS (2nd level), everything we tried failed. For me, the solution was a factory reset. That meant several days of hard work to get the device back to normal with my books and apps but it did solve the problem.

Same thing is happening on both of my Fire tablets. I have an older 7 and a brand New 8 HD. All tabs (for you, books, apps, music, etc) are blank. I have rebooted multiple times. Since both tablets are affected I'm thinking something is going on at Amazon. There are a couple of other threads on here today with folks experiencing the same issue.
Having this exact same problem with my HD8. Just started after I did a restart today. It shows my apps in the HOME section, but all other tabs are blank. I tried a 40 second reboot. Eventually it showed my 4 recent magazines at the top of the HOME section. The other sections say "We're loading your library content and personalized recommendations. This could take a minute".....but it's been about an hour now and nothing loads. I've tried several restarts and I've got it plugged in right now. Also tried clicking "sync". Also wondering if it is on Amazon's end since several of us started having this issue today. Hope so.
I am having the same problem across two Fires, so now I figure it's Amazon. I just got a new Fire, and the old one is beat but still works. Both not opening anything but the Home page. I did reset, hard reset, and a return to default on the new one. Nada.
