Using force is what created the problem.
One edge of the tip is ever-so-slightly longer than the other, although at first glance they look the same.
So folks try jamming it in upside down, not realizing there's only one way to insert it.
I have about a dozen various KFires, since the Keyboard Kindle and the 7" HD, and had No port issues whatsoever.
In the previous "Community" bulletin boards, there were lots of complaints....years ago.
But everyone knows that disgruntled customers speak the loudest, and the millions who have never
had port issues don't post their satisfaction too often!
It's usually "user-error" nowadays , if there's a port "issue".

I myself never had a port issue, but as a poster on the old Community BBs, I saw occasional complaints about
the ports on an earlier KFire.
Between those posts and also reading Reviews posted on the product's page, I noticed there were similarities between
such as attempting to insert charger tip upside down...or using device while charging, etc.
Aside from the one older model of a KFire which apparently *did* have a legitimate port issue, the culprit was
My suggestion is to use the included Warranty, or try another charger, or check a cell phone shop to see if they can pop in a new port.
Other than that, if a new device is purchased, I suggest adding a cheap Extended Warranty...especially if kids use it.
