My husband and I recently got the new Kindle Fire HD 10. The location on both our tablets show Woodstock, GA, but we live in Maryland. This shows up as the weather location even though we added our city where we live. It also shows up when we "allow" the device to use our location when we search various websites. How do we permanently change the Woodstock, GA location to show our Maryland location. Any assistance that you can provide will be greatly.
My wife and I have had 3 Fire tablets and all report Joliet, Il even though we live in central Indiana. After 4 calls to support, a replaced unit, and a response that they would get back with us they have not. This started in May. I think this is a mystery to them.
Our IP location search shows the town next to us. So it is not that.

I just went round and round with Amazon technical support on this. They wouldn't really go further until I reset to factory defaults, and I simply was not willing to lose the work I've spent setting up what is there.
My IP address resolves to a location about an hour from me in Georgia, but my weather display is Seattle, WA.
I'm still learning about this device, but so far, my new Fire HD 10 just seems to be a free-for-all Amazon marketing tool that I was stupid enough to pay for.
I figured this out, all you have to do is disable "location based services" in settings. Settings - Wireless and Bluetooth -Location Based Services, then turn it off. Then make sure on your weather app you have your correct location, mine worked. I hope yours does to!
I have the same issue. Have had fire 10 about a year and this just started last weekend. Called Amazon three times with no one able to solve. Ordered new kindle fire 10, worked yesterday. Turn it on today, and it has yesterday's weather.😣 Wish I could just remove it completely from the screen.
Apparently, fixing the location issue is a very low priority for Amazon. My Fire 10 is slowly being relegated to be a reader only. When this tablet fails, I'll buy a real Android tablet with all the features working.
