I recently purchased a Kindle Fire to replace my Kindle Touch. Didn't like it all for a couple of reasons. The page turn sensor is extremely sensitive and heaven forbid you leave you hand on the page. If that happens, you find yourself in lala land. Then I have a second opinion. This doesn't mess with the function but I find it aggravating. In the original Kindles and in the Touch version I had, when you finished a book, there was a black line under the book title indicating as such. Now there's pictures and they don't necessarily get it right about how much of the book has been read. I really don't like this. Should I create a category for books read so I don't have to search through already read books?
To further ask about this topic, I have hundreds of books. How do I know if one has been added to a collection, or multiple collections? Right now I use a bunch of my time just reading all to the collection i want it in, but because of the volume and new added content, I never can finish sorting and wind up starting over. Is there some way to tell if a book o Is ion a collection without having to look one by one? And even if info that, I will never know I in fact sorted it into a category of collection Any other way. Also with hundreds of books, some read and some unread some partially finished, etc. I Honestly don't recall if I have read it, or finished it or hated it, or loved it and want to re-read it or look for a book that may be part of a series. If it's series of say, 7 books, I can create a category for the series or for the author. So when I do that, as you know often books in a series are released once or twice a year sometimes. Pre at least spaced out a month or two. It gets confusing whether I have read this or that.
Would it be possible to perhaps have the option of the thumbnail of the book disappear if it has been placed into a category already? Or maybe set it up like when entering the tabbed definitions above the homepage screen on the fire, that if you go to the books tab, it Will show me a few thumbnails of recent books purchased, it will have suggested books, unlimited books, books I may like, etc.
If it was organized with that interface with each section be I g a preview of recent books I add to a category, at least it would be a less exhaustive !annual process. I wish very !uxh, it would somehow highlight of have an icon with a number on the thumbnail that tells me, yep it's been sorted and can be found in 3 categoriies..
Have I missed a feature that makes categories manageable or so I always have to scroll hundreds of books of I find it Huang been categorized and remember the topic of the book but not the title or the author. This happens when downloading coloring books or sensitive books quite often. I have dozens of those. Just as time consuming as manually scanning and praying it catches my eye somehow so I don't have to rescan.
If you look at your list of collections, you can see what is in each one (downloaded or not).
Once you have your collections, and everybody in them, sorting by "recent" should put any new or updated books at the top and then just put them in collections as needed.
I have one series that is 22 books. I have another that's about 25 (mixed Amazon and non-Amazon). I think my top is one collection of non-Amazon books (plus a dummy because of a bug) that is 191 non-amazon books in a single series!
Once you get started, it's just a few seconds.
One way to tell if books are in collections only works for cloud collections. Look at your MYCD. The far right column is the number of collections that book is in. You can't sort by that column but you can see and decide what books need to be assigned. Note -- there is a bug with Collection Management in that some collections that were existing before they started the MYCD management ability didn't get set properly. You can't put a book in those anymore and have them stay. It has been reported, I have a ticket, and I'm waiting for a resolution.

There is no such thing as a stupid question!
Corollary -- so long as you read before you post and stay on topic. :)
There's also a problem with samples to books: If I downloaded a sample and added it to a Sample Collection and then purchased the book, it remains in the Samples Collection on the website but not on my devices and while I can go through the actions of removing the book from the Samples Collection, it does not actually get removed. I just ignore it, but it is a weird glitch
