My daughter tried to download all the free time apps at once. They are not successfully downloading, I can't clear them, and the constant attempt to download them is taking up much of the internal storage, causing performance issues with the tablet.
Some apps have an x in the corner and a circle in the middle showing it is in the process of downloading. If I press those apps, I can stop the download and the x goes away. But if I restart the tablet (even with a hard reset by holding the power button for 40 second), when I open her profile, the same apps as before have an x and a download circle. Furthermore, after stopping all the downloads in process, the profile still takes up over 1 GB of internal storage, way more than the other profiles--the highest of which is 199 MB.
Even after clearing the attempted downloads, the exclamation points in other apps remain and I can't figure out how to clear them. I assume they are in a queue to be downloaded, which would account for the high internal storage use. When I press on an app with an exclamation point, the only option I have is to "Remove from Home" or "Add to Home."
I tried clearing the SD card, but that had no effect on clearing the x or exclamation points. (I assume the download queue is stored on the internal storage?) I have the tablet set for the apps to download to the SD card.
I have spent waaaaay too much time on this and we leave for a trip tomorrow. Help!!!!! Thank you!
A long press/hold should give an option to Stop Download if it's still queued, but not yet downloaded (indicated by a small gey bar at the bottom of the icon - the bar turns to an orange progress bar when downloading).
The exclamation point indicates therecwas a problem with the download. Try tapping the exclamation point or just the icon, which should either clear the exclamation point, or restart the download. If it restarts the download, kust immediately stop it with a long hold/press.
If that doesn't work, contact customer service as she may have overloaded the device.
