my Echo Auto was working fine until this morning. I plugged it in, gave an instruction and heard nothing. It didn’t make the connection chime, spark up or play the music.
Both my iPhone and the car stereo screen showed the music I requested running. The stereo volume was up, as was the Alexa App volume on the phone.
What am I missing here?
Hi, Noahdad and welcome to the forums!
I'm sorry to hear your Echo Auto is giving you the silent treatment.
Let's try some troubleshooting to see if we can get the two of you back on speaking terms.
Music or Media Not Playing with Echo Auto
To resolve most playback issues, check that your car stereo is set to the correct input.
If your car has:
Bluetooth music and calling: Set the input on your car stereo to Bluetooth. Make sure that Echo Auto is connected to your phone over Bluetooth.
Bluetooth calling only: Set the input on your car stereo to AUX. Make sure that Echo Auto is connected to your car stereo using the included AUX cable.
No Bluetooth: Set the input on your car stereo to AUX. Make sure that Echo Auto is connected to your car stereo using the included AUX cable.
Tip: Check the volume on your car stereo and your phone.
Additional troubleshooting steps to try, checking at the end of each step to see if the issue has been resolved. If not, move on to the next step.
Kill and relaunch the Alexa app: On Android, tap on the Recent button and kill the app. On iOS, double click on the Home button and kill the Alexa app.
Power cycle Echo Auto: Unplug the power cable from your Echo Auto and wait for 30 seconds. Plug the power cable into your Echo Auto.
Turn on Airplane mode on your phone. Wait for 30 seconds. Turn off Airplane mode on your phone.
Restart the phone.

To reset your Echo Auto
Press the Mute button and then hold down the Action button for 15 seconds until Alexa says that your device is resetting.
Wait for the light bar to pulse orange and then complete setup again.
