Hi Everyone. So how does one go about "attaching" a cell phone number to an Echo or Echo Dot ... or is it even necessary? I believe if I import my contacts I will see my cell number in the Alexa app. But can the Echo/Echo Dot make and receive phone calls via that cell phone number over Bluetooth? And wouldn't this mean that attaching a cell phone number to the Alexa app isn't necessary unless you want to import a contact list?
Its my understanding that they use this just as a reference back to your Amazon account when calling. What purplemtn described so well is the unusual case where someone doesn't have or want a mobile phone
Please note that Amazon Calling does NOT allow you to receive calls FROM A PHONE unless you add an Echo Connect (with land line or VoIP) or you add the Skype Skill AND a PAID Skype number
