I had not realized the Tap was discontinued, but maybe it's for the best. The device itself works fine, but the bluetooth connectivity has always been an issue. The two must frustrating issues are 1) Unlike my car, which pairs automatically with my phone, the Tap always requires me to manually pair the two. 2) If no audio is being transmitted, the Tap disconnects/unpairs from my phone at random intervals. There's no rhyme or reason to the unpairing, it can happen in as few as 5 minutes or can take up to half a day. I guess with Tap going away, there's no reason to solve this issue, but I figured I would voice my gripes.
As a side note, I have tried to use the Cast feature in the Amazon Music app (on Samsung 7) with Tap, and that is a hot mess. The device is listed and pairs easily enough, but once you press play sometimes it works, mostly it doesn't. When it doesn't, the play button starts spinning but the music never starts. I have managed to make it work, and this makes no sense, both with bluetooth connected and with bluetooth disconnected. It definitely has issues with my configuration.
