I got a new Spot yesterday. I can’t get the alarm to work. I tell it to set an alarm. It tells me the alarm is set. The alarm shows up in the Alexa app under the correct device. But the alarm doesn’t sound. The volume is not set to zero. When I ask the device when my alarm is, it says “The alarm is set for” and doesn’t say a time. I have tried cycling the power off and on, but that didn’t fix it.

Update:
The issue with Timers and Alarms not working on your Echo Spot or Echo Show will be resolved with the new software update (OTA R27.5).
Thank you for your patience!

Hello ckdri, Welcome to Amazon Digital and Device Forum!
Restart your device, unplug the power adapter from the back of the device or from the wall outlet. Then, plug the power adapter back in. Ensure you have the latest software version installed.
Then try setting your alarms again by saying things like:
"Wake me up at [time]," or "Set the alarm for [time]."
"Cancel alarm for [time]."
"What alarms are set?"
Alarm and timer volume are separate from the device volume. Make sure to adjust the volume for your alarm or timer in the Alexa app:
Select the Devices icon, choose your device, and then select Sounds.
I had same problem and reboot does not work.. so just go into setting on spot and set manually. then works fine. Voice command does not seem to take even when showing on app.
ckdri did you get this fixed? Got a new Echo Spot a few days ago and having the same issue. Set a weekday alarm, didn’t go off this morning. Alexa App on phone shows the alarm is set on the Spot, but if you ask the device it just says “alarm is set for” and stops. Swiping down and pressing the alarm clock icon just goes back to clock display, guessing that should show something.
Same issue just got one yesterday set an alarm for today and glad I had a back up. I set a timer to see if that would work nothing happened and when I asked how much time left she said there were no timers set. I also get the “Your alarm is set for.”
I'm having the same issue I bought two spots during black friday sale. One works with alarms/timers, the other doesn't You can tell it's failing when you swipe down and select the alarm icon, nothing happens it just reverts back to home screen. Verified by voice and app that alarms and timers were set and active. No joy. Going to attempt a hard factory reset by holding volume down and mute buttons till recovery mode is displayed.
Thanks Theleran!! Worked for me too, initiated a reset as you described. Not too much effort, just had to go thru the basic setup steps after reset was complete.
I’m having the exact same problem. The dot worked just fine...so was my phone. And, I wanted to be able to use it to monitor my house while at work, but the video is so poor and even when placing the device on the floor, the upward view makes it difficult to see much but the top of my doorway. So far, this product is a waste and I may return it.
I am having the exact same issue. Alarm is set for weekdays, volume is at 100% yet the alarm does not go off. If I can’t get this issue resolved I will return the Spot and buy the Google Home Hub.
I too was having the same issue with my brand new Echo Spot - no matter what I did, the alarm did not go off. In fact the very first morning I over slept and was late for work because no alarm. After trying multiple suggested solutions, including the Amazon solution of checking versions and unplugging unit to refresh, I came across @Theleran's "Success" post of the Factory Reset. This works!!! And as to not repost good instructions, simply follow the instructions @Keith L posted.
Interesting side note, after running the factory reset, some of my navigation screens are different.
Thank you @Theleran and @Keith L and good luck to others!
I would like to thank this forum for helping me. I love my Echo Spot, just got it last week, but My timer was not working and that was one thing I was look forward to using. I had tried EVERYTHING but not a factory reset. After reading everyone's comments about doing a factory reset, I did that and lo and behold, the timer is now working!!!!! Thank you all! Agreed with Kwood, totally weird that I had to do a factory reset because I just got this Echo Spot on Black Friday....oh Well, it's working now and I am Happy!
We’ve reported this to our technical team and hope to update you soon with a resolution to the problem. Thanks for your patience while we look into this.

What is the status of this issue? Mine is also brand new that I just set it up yesterday. The alarm showed up yesterday, but it didn't go off this morning. Now, I don't see the alarm showing up at all. Unplugged twice, but didn't help at all. I can try factory reset, but am worried it's just a temporary fix. I saw several people reported it's brand new like mine. Can this be a hardware issue with recent batch?
The reason I got Echo Spot is because I was tired of my echo show flickering issue discussed at https://www.amazonforum.com/forums/devices/echo-alexa/473732-echo-show-screen-flicker, and is hoping to replace it with Echo Spot. Now I am really worried it's a similar issue that's probably caused by hardware defect, and no software updates will ever fix it.

Same issue, brand new Spot, reboot didn’t fix. Deleted and readded and still get “your alarm is set for”. Not sure how to set manually on Spot.

Success! Do a hard factory reset as described above, and go thru all the setup again. It works for me now.

I verified that my Spot has the current software and the issue still persists.
My spot is doing the same thing. Any updates? I'm glad I still had my phone alarm set instead of relying on this thing 🙄
My Alarms and Timers were not sounding, The Alexa App on my phone shows an alarm is set but the spot did not show it on the screen
When I asked 'show me my alarms' it just said“alarm is set for” and stopped.
I was Unable to Access 'sounds' in settings for my Echo Spot from my phone app.
What I did :
On the Echo Spot I swiped down on the screen to go to settings and took the option for a Factory Reset
I Let it do its stuff Following the setup process on the screen
Result :
Alarms and Timers now sounding and when I 'set Alarm ' or when I ask 'show me my alarms' are displayed on the screen,

I am also having the same issues! I reset to the factory setting and it WORKED!!! Thanks!!
Thanks Theleran, factory reset fixed my issue as well. Weird that a brand new spot and config did this right out of the box.
