I’m experiencing the same problem with only playing one song and then stopping on all 3 of my Fire TV (one 2nd generation and two 3rd generation). It just started about 3 weeks ago. My TAP works fine and so does the app on my phone. I have been on the phone with amazon for a week now and have done everything...all the basic troubleshooting to deregistering, rebooting modem and router, and tonight resetting to factory defaults...with no luck. I will talk to them again tomorrow...I can’t imagine what else they will suggest. It’s really very frustrating especially when I see on here that people have been experiencing the same thing for a year with no resolution. Why is this thread listed as solved?
I used Google Home Mini linked with my Spotify Premium account and it worked fine, it played songs continuously. However, since I got the Amazon Echo Dot 3rd gen it only plays ONE SONG via Spotify and then stops. If I ask it to play next song it does nothing, does not even respond. If I say 'play Artist Name RADIO' then it will play songs continuously. But if I just say 'play Artist Name' then it only plays ONE SONG, saying 'play my Spotify playlist called Playlist Name' does not work either.
Had a chat with Amazon Echo Dot Customer Service. They say: "I checked with my resources and see that songs can be played one by one. In this regard, I have taken this as a suggestion and forwarded to our business development team." Translation needed, they mean IT IS CURRENTLY INTENTIONALLY LIMITED to playing one song at a time.
They also say: With Alexa and your Spotify Connect subscription, you can say: "Play music composed by [composer] from Spotify." "Spotify Connect. / Connect to Spotify." (enables Spotify Connect) "Play [genre] from Spotify."
So in general, it is s h i t e.
My response was: "This is an issue for a at least a year now from what I see. Many people have taken it up with you and nothing happened. By negligence you are trying to force (*revised it slightly) people to buy Amazon Music even though they already have and are perfectly happy with Spotify Premium".
And theirs was "Customer feedback like yours is very important in helping us continue to improve our website and services. I appreciate your thoughts, and will be sure to pass your suggestion along."
