I have same issue on a replacement model. Unplug it for a few minutes. I was told they think it’s a video driver that won’t play nice with the updates. Unplug and replug has worked many many times for me.
seems like a pattern here, mine was also bought during the Christmas sale 2017! have already sent back for repairs once. it worked for a short time now flickering is back! arggggggggggh! come on Amazon, its a known problem, please help!
Had Amazon figures out how to fix the Echo Show Screen flicker issue. I got mine last Christmas and today is the first time I actually sat down and tried watching the screen for any length of time. At first the screen was fine, then about 30 minutes in the bottom of the screen started flickering Pretty disappointed in this on top of the fact that Alexa can only search info on Wikipedia and even then adjectives does a lot job at that
One of them is at my home in Florida, the other is at my elderly mother's home in Ohio.
This issue (flickering / pulsing / glitching - across the bottom of the screen) started on both devices last week.
I have also read through MANY postings about this same exact issue.
Amazon Customer Service and Technical Escalation representatives are NOT acknowledging this is a known issue.
I have been asked to ship the units back, for analysis - before Amazon will address my issue.
This will involve me having to take two flights to Ohio: one to pack and ship the unit - the other to reinstall the unit.
My mother is not capable of doing this. Nor does she have any neighbors willing to get involved with anything technical.
Though this is not a problem that Amazon should be concerned with - I did request that they send a replacement unit, so that I do not have to make two trips.
The Amazon Manager, I was escalated to - was NOT willing to assist.
This is just another reason I so regret bringing Alexa (5 devices) into my homes.
I am considering closing my Amazon Prme accounts over this fiasco...
I started having the same problem with flicker on screen about three weeks ago whenever I would tell Alexa to show cloud cam. After about five minutes it would stop flickering. But every time I would start it up the flickering would start again and stop after about five minutes. I read on one of these threads where someone said to unplug the device, I did that for about five minutes and reconnected it and the flickering has stopped completely and it's been over a week with daily use with no further occurrence. I hope this is a permanent fix. Maybe this will work for other people having this problem.

You are correct. This simple action stops flickering.
About unplugging — this was suggested to me way back when it first happened last December. It ALWAYS works. Customer service acknowledged the issue, told me they were aware, and told me why it happens as I noted previously.
My suggestion is to unplug and wait a few minutes and then plug it in again. Before complaining about it. It’s no a perfect fix but it works for me every time the flickering recurs.
Is there a permanent resolution to this yet? I have only had my show for maybe 3 months now and the screen flickers all the time. I have tried all the suggestions and nothing works. I use this in combination with the cloud cam as a baby monitor, so its imperative that the screen works for me. Feedback with what to do from here would be highly appreciated.
I had the same happen to both my echo shows (purchased on Prime Day), first one, and then two weeks later, the other. They were both sent in for warranty service and returned. I had only had the first one back for a couple weeks when it started again - this time even worse (the whole display flickers constantly to the point you can't read it at times). I called and they immediately sent me out a replacement (refurbished) show which so far (I've had it whole 30 minutes!) is working. I'm waiting to see if the same issue pops up again on my second one and if it does I'll call again.
From what I understand, there isn't a permanent fix you can do as a customer. The unplugging is temporary if it works at all; I had many times when it did nothing. The display setting change is also temporary if it works at all. I recommend to go ahead and call them while your unit is under warranty. It is a pain but everyone I have spoken to has been very nice and very helpful. It would be a shame to have units go out of warranty because people were waiting for a software fix when they really needed a hardware fix. Plus, the more people that actually call about the issue, the more it is documented and that is helpful to the technical support teams as they figure out what is going on.
Seems Amazon are aware of this issue as per their last comment back in April this year. I've had mine for just 4 weeks and getting this flickering too...disappointing! It's now November, surely 8 months is enough time to sort this Amazon??? I think I may take mine back for a refund. As some one else said., it's a lot of money for a gadget that doesn' t work properly and quite often stops working at all!
I got my Echo Show couple of months back amd it started to get a line on a bottom and I rebooted it and it was gone and came back after a while now its flickering completely. I see there are many people facing the same issue and also help is on the way without any ETA. Also after the fix anyone got the same issue again? If so what did Amazon do?
I have had mine for about four months; the screen started flickering about a month ago. If I reset it or unplug it for about it minute, it will go away for a while but come back. I thought about sending it back for a replacement, but everyone on this forum that has done that seems to have the same problem return on the new one. I am assuming it must be a software issue.
I purchased (2) seperate Amazon Show units, months apart. BOTH of them are experiencing the same flickering issue. I would find it unlikely that this is a "rare" situation. Please advise and Thank You.
I'd recommend returning and getting a 2nd Gen Show -- or a Google Home Hub.
My 1st Gen Show has been at Amazon for 2 weeks getting "repaired" with no updates on status -- I have been trying to get information on it all morning but Amazon support is proving difficult to get in touch with right now.
I have taken great care of my unit, only a few months old and it's bad when the brightness is high. Screen flicker and I am concerned the repair won't make a difference after reading all these comments..

Seeing the flicker on my Echo Show -- turning off adaptive brightness and setting the display level to lowest setting seems to help.
Running latest software version: 620525820.

I also have a flicker on one of my 2 shows. The first entry says it is a known error and being worked on so will wait and see what they come up with.

Not impressed Amazon!
come on Amazon can we please have a solution or at least a work around. Scheduled power down or something.

I also have this problem. I have tried resetting it, unplugging it, finding a different outlet. Nothing works. Do I need to call Amazon?
The solution still is product replacement. They are going to replace mine since the factory reset only offered a temporary fix.
Is this still being worked on? I started getting it on a 2 month old one. I wish I could just get the latest model as a replacement... 😑
