I have a bluetooth speaker connected to my Living Room Echo Dot. I have the speaker placed about ten feet away between the living room and kitchen, whereas the Echo Dot is next to my sitting chair in the living room. If I give the Echo/Alexa a command and/or question, Alexa answers from the bluetooth speaker. I don't like that. I want Alexa to use the Echo Dot device to speak from, which is usually closer to me, and just use the bluetooth speaker for music. Is there a way to achieve that via settings? If not, could this be an enhancement please? In short, I want Alexa to speak from the Echo Dot device, and play/stream music to the bluetooth speaker. Thanks.
When the device is connected to a Bluetooth speaker, all audio output is routed to that device. Music, responses etc. Currently, there is no settings feature to allow a person to choose which responses to route to a Bluetooth speaker and which ones to come from the device itself. The audio comes from the Dot if it is not connected to another device. The moment it gets connected to another device, all audio will be routed through that device.
