You surely want to keep names of devices as short as possible. You do not want to say " Alexa, turn on Light in the Corner by the Blue Chair" every time you want it on or off.
Actually, The easy way I use works very well. one of my lights is a lamp on a table next to my couch in my living room, I called it "Couch" .... "Alexa, turn on Couch"
I also have a Group with all my lights in the living room called "Living Room"
Another example, my Master Bedroom has 2 night stand lamps. I call one "Master One", and the other "Master 2". Together on a Group called "Master Bedroom". ( I have not yet installed the WiFi wall switch for the overhead light).
NOTE: In a situation like the 2 night stand lights, you could plug them both into a short pigtail, then plug that pigtail into the WiFi plug, that is if you do not mind them both going on and off simultaneously.
You get the idea, short names are much easier as Amazon Research knew would be.
