Recently, my timers have started to malfunction. For example, if I set a timer for 10 seconds, Alexa confirms the timer is set. If I ask how much time on the timer while it's still going, I'm told the correct amount remaining. But when the time expires, no alarm goes off. If I ask afterwards how much time is left, I'm told I don't have a timer set. But then after approximately 20 minutes, the timer will go off. If I check my account using the Alexa app, the 10 second time will be the last timer set and there are no other alarms. This is repeatable and occurs for any timer I set, regardless of length of time. Anyone have this problem before or know how to fix it?
Hey Paul! I'm so sorry your timer isn't working as expected. Let’s try resetting your device. Depending on if you own an Echo, Dot or a Tap the instructions will vary a bit.
To reset your Echo device:
1.Use a paper clip (or similar tool) to press and hold the Reset button. You can find the Reset button at the base of your device. After you press and hold the Reset button, the light ring on your Echo device turns orange, and then blue.
2.Wait for the light ring to turn off and on again. The light ring then turns orange, and your Echo device enters setup mode.
3.Open the Alexa app and reconnect your device to your wifi network.
